Applying in a nutshell
Get a super quick overview on the UNIQ summer schools
UNIQ uses a wide variety of Oxford colleges. These are allocated based on week and subject with participants informed of this when they arrive in Oxford.
The Sutton Trust
If you are eligible for UNIQ, you may also be eligible for the Sutton Trust Summer Schools which operate at different Universities across the UK.
During your application we will ask for teacher details. Should you gain a place we will contact your teacher to check that you are eligible for the course.
You will be asked for three course choices but please make sure your preferred course is your first choice.
A relative came last year, can I apply?
We base our decisions on an individual basis only. It is of no concern of ours if you are related to another applicant.
Attendance for the duration of the summer school is a requirement. If you are offered a place and unable to attend, your place will be offered to another applicant.
UNIQ has access to some of the Universities biggest and best facilities. These range from state of the art lecture rooms, to newly designed labs. All which help students study effectively.
Courses only run on specific dates. Please go to the relevant course page to check what week(s) it is running and how many students are given places.
We prioritise students from low-socio economic backgrounds that have performed better than expected in context of their schools and live in areas with low progression to HE.
If you are concerned that your religious observances may affect your participation on UNIQ, please contact us and we will be happy to discuss this with you.
Applications are open over Christmas and New Year and will close at the end of January. Decisions are made once the application deadline has passed.
All students are supervised and assisted by a core team of mentors, together with on-call senior staff day and night.
