UNIQ 2024
What can I expect on UNIQ 2024?
UNIQ offers a range of activities that will support your preparation for university applications. We also provide extra support on admissions tests and interview preparation for students who apply to Oxford.
What to expect from the online support programme
The online support programme will involve a range of activities designed to help you in your journey to university, from application support, to super-curricular activities, to information on student life, clubs and societies, financial support, and more.
More information will be available here soon, but for now, here is an idea of the kind of activities you can expect:
- Application support sessions, where you can find out how the application process to Oxford works and how you can make the best application possible. At the beginning of the programme, you will be given an overview of the application process. Following the summer, we will be focusing even more on applying to Oxford, and you will have the chance to pick the brains of our student ambassadors, as well as hear from academics, about our admissions tests and interviews. The timing of these sessions is linked to the Oxford application timeline to make sure you get the support you need.
- Student life sessions, where you will find out more about what life as an Oxford student is really like. You will discover how Oxford is a place where you can be you, where you can try something new, or excel at your current talents, and where you can prepare for your future. You can also find out how the University can support you academically, financially and mentally through the range of support services available.
- Oxplore sessions, based on the University’s Home of Big Questions. These Oxplore sessions are all about exploring a new subject, having some fun and learning to think like an Oxford student. They will help you build a portfolio of super-curricular activities that you can use in the future.
What to expect from the academic residential
As well as the online support programme, most UNIQ students will attend a four-day residential in Oxford, which will have an intensive academic focus. The UNIQ residential also gives you the chance to see what living in a college will be like. Our student ambassadors will always be on hand to advise and support you.
Some UNIQ courses are more oversubscribed than university courses, and we want to allow a greater number of students to participate in UNIQ. We will therefore also offer 250 places to participants who will not attend the academic residential, but will have access to the entirety of the online support programme, as well as being offered free travel to our University Open Day on Thursday 27th June. All students allocated to the online programme and Open Day are also placed on the reserve list for UNIQ residential courses.
