Chemistry

Dates of course

Sunday 13th - Wednesday 16th July 2025

Course description

The University of Oxford’s UNIQ Chemistry course is an exciting programme for you to experience life as a Chemistry undergraduate. The course features a mixture of lectures, tutorials, and practical work to give you the full academic experience.

Lectures cover a range of subjects, highlighting the diversity and breadth of the Chemistry degree. Following lectures, students participate in tutorials covering physical, inorganic and organic branches of chemistry. These small-group tutorials build on work that you will undertake prior to attending the residential element. Involving group discussion and problem-solving, there is a chance to refine and expand your knowledge of chemistry, going beyond the school curriculum. Each session is designed to give you a valuable insight into the tutorial system, which is unique to the Oxford course. The final part of the programme is our practical element. These sessions provide you with the chance to enjoy learning new practical skills, working with your peers and with our award-winning Chemistry Teaching Laboratory team.

Our jam-packed programme is perfect for anyone considering studying chemistry at university and is a great way for you to see how the course is taught at an undergraduate level in Oxford. Through participating, you will get an idea of the broad scope of the Oxford course, as well as learning new skills and techniques you can apply to your A-level studies.
